Help for Web Digest Users - Introduction
Your End User Digest displays a list of your email messages that are in the
Quarantine. Your email administrator controls which actions you can apply to
the messages, and which messages are included in your Digest. You may not see
some of the links described in this Help in your Digest, or the links may have
different names.
Actions on Messages in the Digest
The actions that you apply are processed by the web server on the Proofpoint
Protection Server. Here are some examples of the actions you can apply to the
messages in your Digest:
-
"View" - Opens your web browser to view the message.
-
"Delete" - Deletes the message.
-
"Release" - Releases this message from your Quarantine. The message will
arrive shortly after in your inbox.
-
"Safelist" - Releases the message from your Quarantine and also adds the sender's email address to your safelist, meaning
that emails appearing to come from that address in the future will not be Quarantined.
-
"Not Spam"* - Indicates that you believe the message was identified as spam incorrectly. For example you might use
the "Not Spam" action if the message is something you were expecting to receive from a business or an individual.
*WARNING - Clicking the "Not Spam" button will send a copy of the suspect message to the Proofpoint Attack Response Center where it will
be used to improve their own algorithms for all of their customers. Use caution when clicking this for messages that
contain sensitive information as the message will be transmitted to the above mentioned third party.
If you want to make sure you recieve messages from the sender, without third party transmission, use the safelist action instead.
To apply one of these actions to a message in your Digest:
-
Click the link for the message. For example, click the Release link for
a message to release it, or click the Safelist
link to release the message and add the sender to your personal Safe Senders
list.
-
A browser window opens to let you know the request is being processed and shows the status of your request.
Other Digest Requests
You can also click the links in your Digest for other Digest management
requests. These requests are processed by the web server. Here are some
